… The other day I went hunting through the App Store hoping to find a nice clock for the iPad that I could turn on while it was sitting on my desk. To my surprise, there really wasn’t anything that appealed to me. There are a handful of really nice digital clocks, but I prefer analog. And the…

“Soon he was pressing her little button all the time, even though she asked for $2.75 every time he did. Inexplicably, she also asked for an additional $25 because when she was coming she said it was from “Europe.” But whatever–he was getting laid!”

Digital Wedding Forum Interview With Seth Godin →
Digital Wedding Forum: How do we reconcile art and commerce? For the artist who also needs to be a businessperson, how do we keep one from overwhelming the other? Seth Godin: I think the souvenirs of your art… the stuff you sell to make money… don’t have to be artistic. Souvenirs are things that people like to buy, and they are often a shadow of your work, not the work itself. Christo did a great...

Yellow Negatives
If you process your own black and white film, you may have experienced the “yellow negative problem.” It happened to me for the first time today. Let me just say, it’s not the end of the world. Built over the past four decades, the collection holds between 16,000 and 24,000 Polaroids, shot by an impressive line-up of the world’s greatest artists and photographers, including Ansel Adams, Andy Warhol, Chuck Close and Robert Frank. On 21 June, 1200 of these Polaroids will go under the hammer at a one-of-a-kind auction in New York – much to the dismay of some of the artists who shot them.
